A few years ago I was on a date with an amazing woman. As we were leaving the restaurant, her favorite shoe broke. She was pretty devastated because they were from her hometown.
Anyway, I took her home at the end of the night and she said, “They can’t be fixed,” and threw them in her trash (which was out on the street for collection). I kissed her goodnight and pretended to walk to my car.

In the cold morning hours, when he goes to work early, he fills a hot water bottle and puts it in my bed to keep me warm.
His mom is an amazing baker and he wanted me to try the cake she is making for his birthday.
I couldn’t make it home for his birthday so he asked her to make a miniature version for him to bring home. The guy brought me his own birthday cake, complete with writing and everything, just to share it with me. It wasn’t until that completely selfless and sweet moment that it really sunk in how much he loved me.
Every morning my husband is the first to get up, which means he has the unenviable task of trying to wake me up. If I’m cold or cold in any way, he knows I’ll burrow back into the covers and try to hibernate.

About two years ago I had to have spontaneous leg surgery and he took a week off to spend with me while my parents went on a non-refundable trip to Las Vegas that they booked a year ago.
