“After three months of marriage, a couple from ‘Golden Bachelor’ makes major headlines.”

Gerry Turner (74) and Theresa Nist (70) have decided to part ways. The couple, who first became friends during the first season of The Bachelorette, told Juju Chang on Good Morning America on Friday.

Theresa and I discussed our living situation, our circumstances, and other factors after numerous heart-to-heart conversations.

Turner told Chang, “We kind of mutually came to the conclusion that it was probably time for us to — dissolve our marriage.”

“We can’t even begin to count the number of people who have told us that watching The Bachelor gave them hope,” Nist said. “We have received so much love and support from so many people. “We don’t want anything to change for anybody.”

Turner proposed to Nist in the finale of the first season of The Bachelor. The two later tied the knot in a lavish ceremony earlier in the year.

At first, they said they were fully committed, which meant one of them would have to leave since Turner lives in Indiana and Nist lives in New Jersey. However, over time, they realized that they were too “devoted” to their families.

We looked at houses in South Carolina, we looked at houses in New Jersey, and we just looked at house after house, but we could never decide.

Turner noted, “What strikes me most about our conversations is how committed each of us is to our families.”

We had these conversations and decided that living apart would be better for each of us personally. Although their lives may be different, Nist and Turner will always remember the fun times they had together. “I still adore that person,” I definitely still have feelings for her. I help her every day,” Turner said.

With “he’s still my love,” Nist replied.

Gerry Turner (74) and Theresa Nist (70) decided to go their separate ways after three months of marriage after their journey that began on the reality show “The Golden Bachelor”. Despite their initial commitment and the joy they brought to viewers, Turner and Nist announced their decision to part ways during an interview with Juju Chang on Good Morning America.

Turner reflected on their relationship, stating, “We mutually came to the conclusion that it was probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” citing discussions about their living situation and family commitments. Nist added, “We don’t want anything to change for anybody,” emphasizing the support they’ve received from fans.

Their story began with Turner proposing to Nista on the season one finale of “The Golden Bachelor,” culminating in a lavish wedding earlier in the year. Despite trying to find a common residence between Indiana and New Jersey, they found their family ties pulling them in different directions.

“We had these conversations and decided that living separately would be more beneficial for each of us personally,” Turner noted, emphasizing their mutual respect and continued affection. Nist echoed the sentiment, declaring, “She’s still my love,” confirming the enduring bond they share.

As Turner and Nist go their separate ways, they will cherish the memories of their time together, maintaining mutual admiration and support. Their story serves as a reminder of the complexity of love and the importance of understanding and respecting personal priorities.
