Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood said: “It was with great sadness that I learned recently that my dear friend Robin Windsor has passed. He was cheerful, polite, and considerate. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with his friends and family. Peace be with you, my dear friend.

Together, Windsor and Riley made it to the semi-finals of the show in 2012. Riley expressed that she was “heartbroken” to learn of his death. “My Beast, My Robin, My Angel… now our forever Angel,” she said on social media. I will always and forever love you in my heart. My heart aches, yet I still adore you.

When Reid broke the news of Windsor’s exit on Good Morning Britain, she was visibly shaken. She asked Ed Balls, her Strictly Come Dancing co-star, to intervene.

“We have very sad news to share,” Reid said. Robin Windsor, a valued member of the Strictly Come Dancing family, has departed this life. Sorry Ed, but I danced with him when I saw it. It’s about Robin Windsor.

“I fell in love with Robin and dance when we danced together for the 2011 Children In Need special,” she continued. He loved to dance and was an incredible dancer. He was also incredibly strong and resourceful. I was in love with him. He had a really captivating charisma.’

He also performed a dance with Great British Bake Off presenter Alison Hammond in the 2015 Christmas special.

Windsor founded the dance company Burn the Floor and posted a statement on his Facebook page about his death.

“The Burn the Floor family is saddened to say goodbye to one of its founding members, Robin “Bobby” Windsor, who has passed away,” the statement read.

He performed with us for twenty years, joining us on Broadway, in the West End, and on all our crazy international tours.

“His incredible photography with Jessica Raffa embodies the vibrant, sensual, and extreme qualities that define our company.”

His brilliance, personality, vivacity, and charisma contributed to Burn the Floor’s rise to fame. While we will always cherish our memories of him, he will be sorely missed.”

From 2010–2015, Windsor took part in Strictly Come Dancing. In 2015, he had to leave the program due to a slipped disc that left him paralyzed for four days.

His last performance was a Moulin Rouge tribute called Come What May.

Sisco Entertainment, the company he worked for, also shared the news of his death on social media. “We regret to inform you that our friend Robin Windsor has passed away,” they said. He was a talented, charming, and passionate man who was much more than a performer in “Come What May”. People were moved by his dancing and everyone around him was happy.”
