Last weekend, some shelter volunteers offered to take us on a hiking trip. I took all my clothes with me,” she began to share.
“We didn’t realize that the car was accidentally left unlocked while we were out for a walk. Someone took all our things and now I’m left with nothing,” Deborah cried.
Jack was so upset to hear what had happened, especially to someone who had so little to begin with.
Deborah revealed that the shelter did not receive many donations and most of the clothes were in a state of disrepair and she could not wear them because they were too big for her.
“I’m sorry you had to go through such a terrible incident, Deborah,” Jack couldn’t help but apologize. He assured her that he and the rest of the school were behind her and that he would do everything in his power to help her.
Immediately after their meeting, Jack took to social media to ask for help from their school community. In his post, he wrote:
“Deborah Graham is a gifted, straightforward student who is loved by everyone. She is a polite and helpful student to her teachers and a generous and patient classmate to her peers who choose to teach them between classes.”
Deborah does all this without expecting anything in return, despite her difficult life. She is currently living with her single mother in a shelter for women and children and they are dependent on the shelter for their basic needs.”
Recently, Deborah’s belongings were stolen. Her already limited clothing was taken from her and she was now left with tattered, oversized gifts. Because he has nothing to wear to school, he has been absent for over a week.
